What the plan covers

• Fall detection: wearable and camera-free options, matched to how the person lives and where falls are most likely
• Safe entry: smart door locks with separate, scheduled codes for aides, family, and emergency responders, plus a backup way in
• The front door: video doorbells so the person and family can see who is there before the door opens
• Staying in touch: a video calling setup simple enough to use every day
• Lighting: automatic lighting along the path from bed to bathroom and at entrances
• Environmental controls: voice or app control of lights, fans, TV, and blinds, matched to hand function, hearing, vision, and memory
• Kitchen safety: automatic stove shutoff options for electric and gas ranges
• Heat and cooling: thermostat alerts when the home gets too hot or too cold, with remote adjustment by family
• Storms and outages: what still works when the power or internet goes down, backup power, and a simple low-tech plan
• Health monitoring readiness: placement and setup for home monitoring devices ordered by a physician or therapist

How it works

1. Start with the $50 Initial Consultation. We talk through goals, concerns, and who is involved in care.
2. Assessment. In the home or by video, we look at the person, their daily routines, the home layout, Wi-Fi and cell signal, devices already in place, and each family member's role. The in-home plan includes a full Home Safety Visit with your photo report and prioritized hazard list.

   Already booking a Home Safety Visit, Ready for Discharge: In-Home, or Right Home Assessment? Add the Remote Caregiving Plan to the same visit from $100, as your first add-on, or $50 as a second.

3. Your written plan. A room-by-room plan with devices, specifications, placement, and priorities.
4. Installation. You choose a qualified installer and pay them directly. We send them an installer-ready prescription and answer their questions by phone. This is included; there is no separate Contractor Consultation fee for your technology installer.
5. Family training. A video session to set up alerts and practice what each person does when an alert comes in, then a follow-up call after installation.

What you receive

• A written Remote Caregiving Plan: room-by-room devices, specifications, placement, and priorities
• An Installer Prescription your installer can quote from (contains no health information)
• An Alert and Response Plan: who receives each alert and what they do
• A Storm and Outage Plan
• A Home Monitoring Agreement, reviewed and signed with the person being monitored or their legal representative
• One family training session by video (up to 60 minutes, any number of family members)
• One follow-up call after installation
• In-home plans also include the full Home Safety Visit report

Qualified installers

Many plug-in devices can be set up by family, with our guidance by video. Hardwired lighting, door locks, stove shutoffs, thermostats, and backup power go to qualified installers, such as licensed electricians, security and low-voltage installers, and HVAC contractors. Any work on a gas range goes to a licensed gas contractor. Installers should hold the Florida license required for the work, carry insurance, and pull required permits. You choose your installer, contract with them, and pay them directly.

Privacy and respect

Monitoring should protect independence, not take it away. We plan with the person being monitored, not just about them. Every plan includes a written Home Monitoring Agreement that states what is monitored, who can see it, and what stays private. We do not recommend cameras in bedrooms or bathrooms. Health information in your plan is protected under HIPAA.

What we do not do

We do not sell devices, and we accept no fees or commissions from device makers, retailers, monitoring companies, or installers. We do not provide 24-hour monitoring or emergency response. Alerts go to your family and to any monitoring service you choose. In an emergency, call 911.
